How is Poland coping with helping the refugees?

This week i watched a document on BBC Newsnight about how Poland is feeling the pressure of Ukraine war. As we all know, our country is very open to help refugees from Ukraine. Since the war has started over 1 000 000 people crossed polish-ukrainian border and find a shelter here. In an interview the mayor of Warsaw - Rafał Trzaskowski said, that it’s chaotic and it’s hard to imagine how it would be when more people would arrived. We need a plan, also an accomodation, more place, help for schools and hospitals and the money. He hope that other ue countries would also take care of refugees. He is worried that for a long period of time it can overwhelm polish people. Despite this, he wants to help, because it’s a kind of responsibility. I think that it’s very moving how polish people are generous. We united to support our friends in Ukraine. The situation there is terrible and i’m so sorry about it. I’m just hoping that it wouldn’t have bad influence on our nation. https://youtu.be/MuaVen0-ruE

  1. The nasty feelings towards refugees have already started - people a spreading fake news about theft, violence, etc. committed by refugees. I'm afraid it's a matter of time when Poles will stop helping and start complaining.
